Over the past year I have seen an incredible amount of films and I have decided to share with you all which ones I have seen in what order. I am going to be doing these in groups of ten, where I will pick my favorite of the bunch and the worst of the bunch. I am also offering just for fun a chance for you all to guess which actor/actress I have seen the most films off.
So without further ramblings here we go with 81 – 90:
1. Digging Up the Marrow A documentary exploring genre based monster art takes an odd turn when the filmmakers are contacted by a man who claims he can prove that monsters are indeed real. A good mockumentary style horror.
2. Scanners A scientist sends a man with extraordinary psychic powers to hunt others like him. Classic horror that will blow your mind.
3. Boy Next Door A recently cheated on married woman falls for a younger man who has moved in next door, but their torrid affair soon takes a dangerous turn. A weak steamy thriller.
4. Fury April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened Army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and his five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered, out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany. Brilliant war time story.
5. Walking Tall A former U.S. soldier returns to his hometown to find it overrun by crime and corruption, which prompts him to clean house. Simply action thriller.
6. Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters Hansel & Gretel are bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world. As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, the siblings encounter a new form of evil that might hold a secret to their past. Lacklustre horror thriller.
7. When the Lights Went Out – Poltergeists attack a family in Yorkshire during the 1974 nationwide blackouts. A dull ghostly experience.
8. Knights of Badassdom Live-action role players conjure up a demon from Hell by mistake and they must deal with the consequences. An action comedy that got taken out the director’s hands.
9. Catch .44 For Tes (Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed) and Dawn (Deborah Ann Woll), the job sounded simple enough: intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Willis) at an isolated diner. But when an unstoppable chain of events unfolds, everyone soon realizes no one is who they seem and the job may be something other than eliminating the competition. What started as simple instructions has now turned into a deadly cat-and-mouse game – with large guns pointed at everyone. Poor, eyes hurt now.
10. Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death 40 years after the first haunting at Eel Marsh House, a group of children evacuated from WWII London arrive, awakening the house’s darkest inhabitant.
The Best – Fury
The Worst – Catch .44
Star leading the way – Bruce Willis, Chris Tucker, Forest Whitaker, Gemma Arterton, Haley Joel Osment, Jackie Chan, Peter Stormare, all with 3 films each.
