On New Year's Day last year I wrote this post setting myself a few goals to achieve in 2014. Today I want to look back and see how I got on and share some of my goals for 2015, both personal and blogging related ones.
If you read yesterday's post you'll know I more than succeeded my aim to graduate with a 2:1 as I came away with a first class honours. I passed my driving test in November and I did a fair amount of traveling too; Paris, Manchester and Edinburgh. I don't have an actual portfolio that I could hand over to someone, but I do have the work and I could pull it all together if I needed to, so perhaps that's something to work on this year too. Being more positive is something I am trying to work on and if I consider the events I've been invited to through my blog and the opportunities I've had (Very Magazine, Zip Wire etc.) then they would've never happened if I didn't say 'yes'. I do want to work on this more this year too and really try to do more and make my blog even better!
So, onto my goals for this year:
Travel
This year I'd like to visit Copenhagen, Denmark, Sweden - basically go on a Scandinavian Adventure! I'd like to maybe visit Northern Ireland too and see the Game of Thrones locations.
Get Fit | Take Part in a 10K!
I'm trying to get into a routine where I go running and I want to maintain it. I wrote this post recently about fitness and I'm hoping to do more regular ones as I settle into my routine. This year I'd like to take part in a 10k run and perhaps the color run too if it's in Sunderland again this summer. I also think it might be a good idea to cut down on the takeaways!
Spend More Time With Family
I guess I kind of already spoke about this in my looking back on 2014 post. This year I want to spend more time with family and appreciate the little things. For Christmas I bought tickets for us to see AC/DC in June and although that's not a huge present, it'll be nice to spend time together away from home. I'd like to go visit my Aunt too and spend more time with her, as well as making more of an effort to visit my Great Aunt and Uncle.
Buy a Car
Since I've now passed my test, it would make sense to get a car and drive around rather than use public transport.
YouTube
I sort of dipped my toes into YouTube last year, but uni kinda got in the way. I know it might be more challenging with full-time work, but I'm hoping to maybe try YouTube again. Even if it's just one video a fortnight to start with. Let me know what you think!
Say 'Yes'
This leads on from last year's goal to be more positive. At times, I think I have been fairly positive but I really need to push it more. If I can put myself out there more and take more opportunities, they could lead me to where I want to be. There's been more than a few times lately where I've put myself off doing things and I probably would've had a better time if I just said yes to begin with.
I can't really think of any more blogging goals; I'm still so surprised there's over 1000 of you who follow Hello Freckles, so thank you! I just want to keep doing this and trying to stick to my schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday - though I'd like to know if you want to keep seeing Sunday Summary posts or would prefer another lifestyle post - feedback in comments or via twitter please!) and making Hello Freckles the best I can!
