2015 Awards – Best Action Film

By Newguy

Through the month of January, I will be looking back on 2015, I will be looking at a range of subjects where I will be picking my best or worst in separate posts.

Today I will be look at Best Action film and this year we have had an exceptional year for action films, I am going to have a long list of honourable mentions because there are too many I can’t leave off.

Mentions that could have been number one;

·   John Wick

When this film came out not too many people were sure what to think before hand but what we got was one of the most brutal assassin films of recent years with Keanu Reeves being one of the most believable hit man in recent years as he always makes sure he finishes off his victims with a shot to the head.

·   Skin Trade

This is my wild entry on this list as it will be the one least amount of people will have heard off, the cast includes the brilliant Tony Jaa and Dolph Lundgren. I went in not expecting too much but with hard hitting fight scenes this one easily became of my favourites of the year.

·   Kingsman

When I first saw this I thought I already had a winner of best action film of the year but this ends up taking this role of closest to being the winner. The all out action style of this film will leave you breathless and isn’t afraid to show a dark side to the final outcome of the film.

·   Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation

mission
Ethan Hunt is back for his most non-stop mission to date, with two brilliant action scenes with the car chase through Morocco and the plane scene. Easily a great addition to the Mission Impossible franchise.

My favourite

·   Mad Max Fury Road

What can I say about this film that hasn’t already been said, the action never lets up and from the opening scene we end up in one constant race across the wasteland finishing off with an all-out vehicle chase that will leave your jaw dropped.

Ones I liked that couldn’t quite make the list.

·   Furious 7

·   San Andreas

·   Run All Night
