2014 Goals

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
2014 GoalsI still can't quite believe it's 2014 already, any bets I end up writing 2013 in lectures back at uni! I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year whatever you got up. Today I want to talk about my plans for the year, well more 'target's really and with every new year (or new term even if I'm feeling like it) I get myself some new stationery and get organised.

This year there's a lot going on for me and rather than make strict resolutions, I've decided to set myself a few targets or goals that I want to achieve. Things I know I can do if I put my mind to it but I just need that extra push.

Graduate from uni with a 2:1
I finish university this summer and obviously I want to go on and get a great job afterwards. What exactly I want to do when I leave uni, I'm not completely sure, but if I can graduate with a high 2:1 then that opens plenty of doors for me to consider career options.

Build a strong portfolio

This links in with graduating from uni, but I'd like to walk away with a strong portfolio of work to show to potential employers. I already have a few short films, a good amount of writing experience from Spark and now Northern Lights so if I can keep working as hard as I can doing as much as I can with my time, I'll have lots of impressive work (I hope) by July.

Pass my driving test

I've been learning to drive for a few months now and while I don't mind using public transport, it'd be nice to have that bit of extra freedom and the ability to go wherever I want (within reason) whenever I want to. It'd be nice to be able to pick up Andrew and go somewhere rather than him pick me up and always be designated driver.

Travel more

Since going to Berlin last month, I've really wanted to travel and see more of the world. Before our trip away I hadn't been on a plane for six years and I really don't want to leave it that long again. I'm thinking, if I travel more then hopefully I'll be less nervous about flying.

Be more positive

I tend to worry about little things that may or may not happen and in doing so, I talk myself out of doing things. If I can turn that around and think more positively then I should be happier. I'm going try to consciously say 'yes' more and make opportunities happen.

Keep blogging

While this is one that kind of goes without saying, I really want to keep blogging and be consistent with my posts. I did a lot last year and I'm thinking this year may be the one I venture into the world of YouTube too. I already do vlogs for Lives Online so why can't I do them for Hello Freckles too!

What're your goals for 2014?
