2014 Awards – Best Female Performance

By Newguy

Through the month of January I will be looking back on 2014, I will be looking at a range of subjects where I will be picking my best or worst in separate posts.

Today I will be look at Best Female Performance. It would be fair that I haven’t seen too many films that have strong female characters this year.

Mentions that could have been number one;

Emma Stone – Unlikely Hero

I understand this film came out in the States back in 2009 but in the UK we only got this film this year. I thought Emma showed the star power she was always going to have as this was before she has become the name she was.

Emily Blunt – Edge of Tomorrow

Emily showed that she will be the generation action star here and after two previously stunning sci-fi films she has finally broken out to be the lead solider figure here. My Review

Scarlett Johansson – Under the Skin

In what was a brave choice by Scarlett turned into one of the best performance of her career. My Review

My favourite

Shailene Woodley – The Fault in our Stars

Touching on a very sensitive subject and working from a source material, we do get a great performance from the young actress who genuinely draws you in to every emotion she goes through. My Review
