2012 has been a good year for Telugu cinema with many biggies doing well and many stars showcasing their box office potential to the fullest. Now 2013, has begun on a fabulous note as well. Many trade analysts have expressed happiness over this start. Even a Bollywood trade analyst like Taran Adarsh has tweeted that the Telugu cinema has started off 2013 with a bang.
Two films Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Naayak were competing with each other for Sankranthi and the initial response for both the films has been fantastic. While multistarrer Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu starring Victory Venkatesh and Superstar Mahesh Babu is setting new benchmarks in overseas, Naayak starring Mega Power Star Ram Charan is creating new records back in Andhra Pradesh.
As things stands today both the films are going neck in neck at box office with each film having a slight edge in few areas courtesy the distribution deals. However there is still long way to go for both the movies to break even at the box office as they have been taken for record prices by the buyers.
