2013 NBA Draft Stock Report
Throughout the college basketball season, players see their draft stock go up and down. Things such as injury, player performance, and team performance all affect a player's draft stock.

2013 NBA Draft Stock Report

From B/R

Ben McLemore SG Kansas: McLemore went from being an unknown commodity in Lawrence, into their best player and pro prospect. After being redshirted last year, McLemore came into the season with a chip on his shoulder, and his talent has spoken for itself. McLemore has moved all the way up into the top 5 of my big board. He is a lethal at attacking the basket, and can really shoot the deep ball. He had a coming out game on national television this week as he saved #5 Kansas from having their 30 game home winning streak snapped. He went 6-6 from three and hit a buzzer beater three point shot to bring the game into overtime. If McLemore can keep up his progress, he can challenge Shabazz Muhammad to be the first wing player selected in the upcoming draft.
Victor Oladipo SF Indiana: Oladipo came into the season as an energy guy for the Hoosiers who didn't have much of an offensive game. Well now, Oladipo has proven to be one of the most improved players in the country. He uses his athleticism to get to the rim, and he is shooting an astonishing 48 percent from three point range. Not to mention he is one of the nation's best wing defenders. He is being compared to Tony Allen, but with his progress, I can see him becoming more of a poor man's Andre Iguodala. With his raw talent, Oladipo can be developed into a very solid player at the next level.
Mike Muscala PF/C Bucknell: Muscala has been tearing up the Patriot League, and after having a big game against Missouri's talented front court he seems like a legitimate NBA player. While he lacks athleticism, he is an incredibly skilled big man who has both an inside and outside game. Muscala should be a lock for the second round, and could see his stock move up to the late first round if he keeps playing on this level.

James Michael McAdoo PF UNC: McAdoo entered the season as a dark horse candidate for the number one overall pick, but has not played on that level. Last year as a freshman, McAdoo looked exceptionally raw but started to come on in the NCAA tournament. After that improved play and UNC  losing 4 players to the first round of the 2012 draft, McAdoo was supposed to be the go to guy for the Tar Heels. While he has put up solid numbers, he hasn't proved to be that special talent Roy Williams was expecting to have. McAdoo is still pretty raw offensively and is too turnover prone. With the Tar Heels having a poor season, a lot of the fingers are being pointed at McAdoo which is tough for a young player. McAdoo has seen his stock moved to the late lottery, but he can still dictate where it ends up.
Steven Adams C Pitt: Adams who is a native of New Zealand was supposed to make a huge splash for the Panthers this year, but has been extremely underwhelming. At 7'0 with a legitimate NBA body, you would expect him to be pounding on opposing big men. Instead, he has shown he is more of a body than a basketball player and is awhile a way from having a low post game. Adams could still go in the first round if he declares based on size alone, but probably should stay in school and improve his game.
Tony Mitchell F North Texas: Mitchell, a transfer from Missouri who made a big splash last season, has been a huge disappointment this season. If he declared last year, he could have been a top 10 pick, but he has seen his stock take a huge hit. Playing inferior competition, Mitchell should be dominating. Right now Mitchell has seen his draft stock fall into the 20's.
CJ McCollum G Lehigh and Ryan Kelly PF Duke: Both seniors have sustained serious foot injuries that should keep them out for quite some time. While Kelly still has a chance to return in 2013, McCollum had surgery and will be out for the rest of the season. While we have seen plenty of them, these injuries could hurt them in the draft workouts which could really affect their stock at a later time.
