Gabbar Singh:
“Nakoncham Tikkundi Daniko Lekkundi” – set the tone for the character which went on to create hysteria all over. Director Harish Shankar deserves every bit of credit for the characterization as well as extraction and proper channelization of ‘energy’ missing from Power Star Pawan Kalyan in his past few films.

Businessman:
If there was a film this past year which ran purely because of the hero characterization then it has to be Businessman. Puri Jagannadh who is known for creating terrific hero characterization comes up with a character that stays with you right after you leave cinemas. The character of Surya Bhai just grows and grows as the film progresses so much so that one forgets the actual film. May be Puri Jagannadh too had a similar effect that could explain the pitfalls of the film. Superstar Mahesh Babu just rocked as Surya Bhai.

Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum:

The central character of Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum is a very well conceived one. It starts off as an immature and grows internally as the film progresses and finally turns into a storm full of rage and yet it has to take a decision that is not driven by personal rage but for a larger good. How we wish someone like Jr NTR had done this. It would then not have been a breakthrough performance for a desperately trying hero but would have been a landmark performance that would have been memorable for all ages.

Adhinayakudu (2nd Balakrishna):

Forget the horribly done costumes and make up, the character Ramakrishna Prasad (middle aged Balakrishna) was one solid, high energy performance which only someone like Nandamuri Balakrishna could have done. The character lightens up the screens whenever it is present, unfortunately the younger persona of Balakrishna in the film just ruins everything else.

Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu:
Director Puri Jagannadh comes up with a completely contrasting character to his Businessman in Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu. A cinematic version of real life character of Pawan Kalyan which off late is known in popular sense as Pawanism. Once again like the director earlier film only the central character shines. One can’t write too many punches into an extremely positive character and this is visible, in Rambabu’s character and hence falls short in terms of entertainment. We wonder if anyone can create a positively entertaining character with Telugu cinema ‘heroic’ requirements.
