2012 NHL DRAFT: Even-strength Grades

Quantifying players' performances
This is the third in a series of graphs focusing on some of the 2012 NHL Draft-eligible prospects I had the pleasure of viewing multiple times.
This graph is a visual representation of the even-strength grade produced by these draft-eligible players.  The higher the number the better these players performed during the game. The grade is based on the number of successful plays a player makes in comparison to the total number of events engaged in.
It is important to indicate when and where the games were played in order to establish the level of competition. Obviously, the numbers earned during an Under-18 tournament should be different than those earned during a World Junior Championship.
These players are in no specific order. Only those players with multiple one-game scouting reports using my player tracking system were included in the graph.
FORWARDS
Nail Yakupov was scouted 7 times. Six of those games were played during the 2012 World Junior Championship, while the other was an OHL game. Yakupov produced a marginally above-average grade of 66. That said, it's important to remember that 6 of these games scouted were played at the WJHC; the highest level of competition available to a player his age.
Mikhail Grigorenko was scouted 7 times. Five of those are from the World Junior Championship, and one was from the QMJHL. The other game scouted was the 2012 CHL Top Prospects game. Despite injuries and illness, Grigorenko still managed to produce an average even-strength grade. It is also important to mention that 5 of the games scouted took place at the WJHC.
Filip Forsberg was scouted 5 times. Four of those games are from the World Junior Championship, while the other game took place during the World Under-18 Championship. Forsberg produced a below-average grade. Two of the grades this young player produced in games played at the WJHC were in the 40's; significantly hurting his 5-game average. His grade during the one game scouted at the Under-18 Championship was an above-average 69.
Tanner Pearson was scouted  4 times. Three of those games are from the World Junior Championship, while the other was the CHL Top Prospects game. Pearson produced the second-highest grade among forwards included here. He's an older player, who played well against the best players in the world during the WJHC.
Radek Faksa was scouted  6 times. Four of those games are from the World Junior Championship, and one is from the OHL playoffs. The other game scouted was the CHL Top Prospects game. Faksa had an above-average grade of 67. Two of his best one-game grades were produced during the WJHC.
Sebastian Collberg was scouted 5 times. Four of those games are from the World Junior Championship, while the other game took place during the World Under-18 Championship. Collberg earned the lowest even-strength grade among the players included here. He produced only one grade above 60 during the 5 games scouted; including a grade of only 50 during a World Under-18 game.
Tomas Hertl was scouted  4 times. All 4 games took place at the World Junior Championship. Hertl produced a well-above average grade. It's important to mention the high level of play during the games scouted, as well as the fact that he earned 2 grades above 77 during the WJHC.
Martin Frk was scouted 3 times. Two of those games are from the QMJHL, while the other is the CHL Top Prospects game.  Frk produced an above average even-strength grade during the games scouted. That said, the games took place in the QMJHL; a lower level of play than some of the higher-end prospects (WJHC) included here.
Tomas Hyka was scouted 4 times.  Three of those games are from the World Junior Championship, while the other is the CHL Top Prospects game. Hyka earned the highest even-strength game among the forwards included here. Yes, he is an older player, but three of his four games took place at the WJHC.
Brendan Gaunce was scouted 3 times. One of those games was the CHL Top Prospects game, one was from the World Under-18 Championship, while the other was from the OHL. Gaunce produced a below-average even-strength grade. Regardless of the level played, Gaunce's grade is consistently hurt by his inability to complete passes in the offensive-zone.
Scott Laughton was scouted twice. One of those games is from the CHL Top Prospects, while the other is from the World Under-18 Championship. Laughton earned an above-average ES grade during the games scouted. His grades were produced against players in his own age group, and were helped by his solid passing-percentage.
Gemel Smith was scouted twice. One of those games is from the CHL top Prospects, while the other is from the World Under-18 Championship. Smith produced a below-average even-strength grade. That said, his penalty-killing numbers were quite impressive. He was successful with only 50% of his offensive-zone passes during the games scouted.
2012 NHL DRAFT: Even-strength Grades
DEFENSEMEN
Ryan Murray was scouted 4 times. Three of those games are from the World Junior Championship, while the other is from the CHL Top Prospects game. Murray produced an above-average grade against strong competition. His top one-game grade was an 80 he earned during the WJHC.
Matt Dumba was scouted 3 times. Two of the games are from the World Under-18 Championship, and the other is from the CHL Top Prospects game. Dumba produced an impressive even-strength grade competing against players in his own age-group.
Jacob Trouba was scouted 5 times. Three of those games are from the World Junior Hockey Championship, while 2 others are from the Under-18 Championship. Trouba produced an above-average grade while playing against players both in his age-group, and substantially older. His top one-game grade was a 78 he earned at the WJHC.
Griffin Reinhart was scouted 3 times. Two of those games took place during the 2012 Memorial Cup, while the other is from the CHL Top Prospects game. Reinhart had a below average grade. His best one-game grade was a 71 he earned during the CHL Top Prospects game.
Ville Pokka was scouted twice. Once during the WJHC, and once during the World Under-18 Championship. Pokka produced the lowest even-strength grade among defensemen included here. His average was hurt by a grade of 53 he earned during a WJHC game.
Olli Maata was scouted 4 times. Once during the WJHC, and 3 times during the Memorial Cup.  Maata produced an impressive above-average grade. His top grade was a 73 he earned during the Memorial Cup
Cody Ceci was scouted twice. Both games are from the OHL playoffs. Ceci had the second-highest even-strength grade among players included here. He earned identical grades of 76 during each of the games scouted.
Adam Pelech was scouted 3 times. Twice during the Under-18 Championship, and once during the CHL Top Prospects game. Pelech keeps the game simple, and has success doing it. His best grade was a 77 he earned at the Under-18 Championship
Connor Carrick was scouted twice. He is only ranked 124th by Central Scouting, but his numbers intrigued me enough to include him here. Both games scouted are from the World Under-18 Championship. Carrick had the top grade of any player included here. That said, it's important to note the level of competition, as well as the fact that he was playing behind both Jacob Trouba, and 2013 phenom Seth Jones during the games scouted.
