2012 NHL DRAFT: Defensive-zone Risk/reward and Ratio

By Kicks @Chrisboucher73
I use video to track each event a player engages in. This allows us to quantify their play within each zone. These graphs are visual representations of each players' performance when engaging in EVEN-STRENGTH events within the defensive-zone.
Risk/reward ratings represent how many more successful plays than unsuccessful plays a player makes per-minute of ice-time; the higher the number the better a player performed.
Ratios do not take into account ice-time. They are a simple representation of the number of successful plays a player makes for every 1 unsuccessful play; again, the higher the number the better the performance.
These averages were calculated using over 2500 individual player scouting reports.
