2009 Castle Rock Reserve Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

By Brian @WineInMyGlass

Bottle shotMy wife, Maggie, and I picked this up recently at a local store. We chose this because we enjoy Pinot Noir and we enjoy Castle Rock wines. This wine comes from the Russian River Valley in California.

I get fruit, floral, and a bit of vanilla on the nose.

The palate starts with red cherries, with spice and a hint of tobacco mid-palate. There’s some mocha on the finish. Very smooth. Well balanced. Wonderful Pinot Noir.

This wine gets an “Excellent” rating.

Castle Rock Winery produces some great wines at reasonable prices. I recommend trying their wines if you haven’t already.

Rating: Excellent
