2-Ingredient Pasta Cream Sauce

By Milastolemyheart

We love pasta. Hubs prefers tomato-based. I love cream-based. Mila eats pretty much what we feed her. Dad said he likes my carbonara recipes but I rarely hear him request it when he's given the choice. I was surprised when yesterday, as I promised him I'm gonna cook him spaghetti, he suggested instead a cream-based pasta recipe he learned from a workmate.

It's so simple with just 2 main ingredients. Cream and Egg. This can be a good base for a more complex sauce, just add bacon, ham, ground beef, chicken, or even veggies. Those are all optional because as it is, the sauce is already good enough to serve to my feeling food critic picky husband.

Ingredients

200 grams Pasta (I used Spaghetti)
1 250 ml All Purpose Cream
1 egg
4-5 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 pack Magic Sarap
1 tbsp olive oil (for sauteeing)
pepper (optional)

Procedure

1. Cook pasta as per package instruction. Undercook for about 2 minutes since it will get cooked further with the sauce. This will make sure it stays al dente.

2. In a bowl, wisk together the cream and egg.

3. Sautee garlic until soft but not brown.

4. Pour the sauce. Lower the heat and continue stirring for about 5 minutes. Don't let the sauce boil (bubble) for a smoother consistency. Add the whole pack of Magic Sarap

5. When you reach a nice thick consistency, add the pasta. Toss until sauce is evenly distributed and covers the pasta thoroughly. Turn the heat off and serve.

Note: If you want to add meat or veggies, sautee with the garlic until cooked. Set it aside before adding the sauce.

Yield: 4 Servings
