1Q84 Book Three by @harukimurakami_

By Pamelascott

Book Two of 1Q84 ended with Aomame standing on the Metropolitan Expressway with a gun between her lips.

She knows she is being hunted, and that she has put herself in terrible danger in order to save the man she loves.

But things are moving forward, and Aomame does not yet know that she and Tengo are more closely bound than ever.

Tengo is searching for Aomame, and he must find her before this world's rules loosen up too much.

He must find her before someone else does.

1Q84 Books One and Two blew me away so I was obviously going to love Book Three. The pacing of this concluding volume is slightly different and a third POV character is introduced, a man hired to find whoever killed the Leader; the killer who just happens to be Aomame and his investigations leads him to discover Tengo and his link to Aomame and Fuka Eri. The book focuses on Aomame and Tengo as they determine to find each other while being hunted and painfully aware time may be much shorter than they realise. This book is a lot more focused on Aomame and Tengo's love than the other two volumes. There are less references to the Little People though they crop up a few times. Like the first two volumes, this is a hard book to define. Is it science fiction? Or Fantasy? It's mostly set in a world with two moons so it is fantasy? Or dystopian? It's definitely a love story. I loved every word.
