19 Pairs of Shoes Made for Walking

By Imogenl @ImogenLamport

I am 62 yrs old. 4’11″, X body, short legs. I walk 2 miles into town and 2 miles back every day.  Twice a week I attend a theater production.  For these I wear an upscale dress, but still have to wear runners because of the walk.  I’d rather not carry shoes, because once inside the theatre, no one sees my feet. still, I wish my feet could look better.   Any suggestion for upscale walking shoes (with a wide sole, not tapered narrower). Perhaps the answer is to stop wearing dresses and wear pants.

The reality, when wearing skirts and dresses, particularly when you have shorter legs, it’s hard to find a flattering shoe that will also withstand a long walk.   Yes wearing pants is the easier option, but if you love to wear dresses and really don’t want to carry other shoes, here are a few options that you may want to try (click on the picture to discover more about them)

Here are some others that are less dressy, bore like runners, but without the bulk

My other option would be to wear your sneakers, then take along some tiny, slip in your purse, foldable flats to change into if you can.
