1.89 Crore Applications for 63000 Recruitments of Group D in Railways: Piyush Goyal

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday that in February 2018, about 1.89 crore applications were received for 63 thousand vacancies in Railways and the schedule of written examination is under process.

Goyal gave this information in a written reply to the question of Hanuman Beniwal in the Lok Sabha.

The first notification was made for 63,000 vacancies in February 2018 and the second notification for 1.03 lakh vacancies in March 2019. He said, “Around 1.89 crore was received for the first notification”.

The Railway Recruitment Board on Monday issued a tender for agency selection. One crore 43 lakh candidates have applied for this post from all over the country.

Till now, the railway examination used to be taken by TCS. More than six lakh applications have been made in Railway Recruitment Board Allahabad alone. After the agency selection, the exam is likely to be conducted in May-June this year.

RA Jamali, Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board Allahabad, informed that RRB Chennai has been made the nodal agency for NTPC examination.

More than 1.25 crore applications have come for the exam. According to the chairman, the examination will begin after the deployment of the agency.
