A FUND RAISING EVENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE
FAMILIES OF ROAD VICTIMS & SURVIVORS (F.R.V.S.)
One Life is too valuable. One Death is too many.

GROUP : https://www.facebook.com/groups/348547461866547/

2013 is a historical year for both a Global & Local Movement
that has been integral in shaping the very fabric of our Nation.

1) K.K.K. Revolution : Gat. Andres Bonifacio
2) International Red Cross : Jean Henri Dunant

Taking inspiration from these 2 Leaders, we are motivated
in the FAMILIES OF ROAD VICTIMS & SURVIVORS (F.R.V.S. Philippines-Asia) to take head on the long road towards making our Vision & Mission a reality.

F.R.V.S. PHILIPPINES – ASIA

We are an association of families, relatives, friends and colleagues of road victims, including survivors. It is a support group and at the same time an advocacy group for road safety especially the enforcement of rules and regulations for road users. Guided and motivated by the principles of truth, justice and good governance, it commits itself to its avowed vision, mission, goals and objectives.

OUR VISION

F.R.V.S. believes that the phenomenon of road crashes which is today one of the top killers and cause of injuries especially to pedestrians can be minimized if not entirely eradicated if only road safety laws, rules and regulations including those for road users and transportation licensing and regulations were properly and strictly enforced. The corruption and inefficiency of government agencies have also contributed to the problem of road safety. F.R.V.S. thus envisions a society where citizens are guaranteed safety on the roads AS A HUMAN RIGHT.

OUR MISSION

F.R.V.S. untiringly seeks justice for victims of road crashes and the enforcement of road users rules and regulations through the participative empowerment of road victims’ families and survivors of road crashes. It upholds and actively works for the protection of road users, particularly pedestrians, children and the elderly, as well as the people with disabilities. It links arms with local and international groups working for the same objectives in the spirit of respect, trust and mutual cooperation.

KARTILYA NG KATIPUNAN
ENGLISH http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kartilya_ng_Katipunan
FILIPINO http://www.msc.edu.ph/centennial/kartilya.html

This coming November 30, 2013 — we will be celebrating the birth anniversary of the heralded Supremo of the K.K.K. Revolution (Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galangang Katipunan) Andrés Bonifacio y de Castro (born 10 May 1897) was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary.

He is often called “the father of the Philippine Revolution“. He was a founder and later Supremo (“supreme leader”) of the Katipunan movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from 400 year Spanish Colonial Rule and started the Philippine Revolution. He is considered a de facto national hero of the Philippines, and is also considered by some Filipino historians to be the first President, but officially he is not recognized as such.

The K.K.K. Revolution was started as an underground group in July 7, 1892 in 72 Azcarraga (C.M. Recto), Tondo, Manila with Andres Bonifacio, Ladislao Diwa, Teodoro Plata, Deodato Arellano, Valentin Diaz, and Jose Dizon. It aimed to unite all Filipinos in its armed struggle against Spain.

By August 24, 1896, the full K.K.K. Revolution broke out with the tearing up of their Cedulas at the Cry of Pugad-Lawin.

The Kartilya ng Katipunan (English: Primer of the Katipunan) served as the guidebook for new members of the K.K.K. Revolution, which laid out the group’s rules and principles. The first edition of the Kartilya was written by Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Jacinto will later pen a revised Decalogue.

THE RED CROSS 7 FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES
http://www.ifrc.org/en/who-we-are/vision-and-mission/the-seven-fundamental-principles/

Last May 8, 2013 — everywhere in the world, this was a special day for the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies which is the premier Global Humanitarian Organization that relentlessly commits itself to the alleviation of suffering & protection of human dignity amongst the most vulnerable sectors in society.

This is the birth anniversary of Jean Henri Dunant (died October 30, 1910), also known as Henry Dunant, was a Swiss businessman and social activist. During a business trip in 1859, he was witness to the aftermath of the Battle of Solferino in modern day Italy. He recorded his memories and experiences in the book A Memory of Solferino which inspired the creation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in 1863. The 1864 Geneva Convention was based on Dunant’s ideas. In 1901 he received the first Nobel Peace Prize together with Frédéric Passy.

BATTLE OF SOLFERINO

Dunant arrived on Solferino on the evening of June 24, 1859, on the same day a battle between the two sides had occurred nearby. Thirty-eight thousand wounded, dying and dead, remained on the battlefield, and there appeared to be little attempt to provide care. Shocked, Dunant himself took the initiative to organize the civilian population, especially the women and girls, to provide assistance to the injured and sick soldiers. They lacked sufficient materials and supplies, and Dunant himself organized the purchase of needed materials and helped erect makeshift hospitals. He convinced the population to service the wounded without regard to their side in the conflict as per the slogan “Tutti fratelli” (All are brothers) coined by the women of nearby city Castiglione delle Stiviere. He also succeeded in gaining the release of Austrian doctors captured by the French.

THE RED CROSS

After returning to Geneva early in July, Dunant decided to write a book about his experiences, which he titled Un Souvenir de Solferino (A Memory of Solferino). It was published in 1862 in an edition of 1,600 copies and was printed at Dunant’s own expense. Within the book, he described the battle, its costs, and the chaotic circumstances afterwards. He also developed the idea that in the future a neutral organization should exist to provide care to wounded soldiers. He distributed the book to many leading political and military figures in Europe.

Dunant also began to travel through Europe to promote his ideas. His book was largely positively received, and the President of the Geneva Society for Public Welfare, jurist Gustave Moynier, made the book and its suggestions the topic of the February 9, 1863 meeting of the organization. Dunant’s recommendations were examined and positively assessed by the members. They created a five-person Committee to further pursue the possibility of their implementation and made Dunant one of the members. The others were Moynier, the Swiss army general Henri Dufour, and doctors Louis Appia and Théodore Maunoir. Their first meeting on February 17, 1863 is now considered the founding date of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
