The air sign Libra gives the message of balance when the right and left scales are balanced. If the law in society becomes disordered, the balance is disturbed; polarisation arises between the different groups in society. Anyone who behaves unlawfully disturbs the harmony of the balance. Today, the law is regularly violated in every conceivable aspect.
Saturn is exalted in Libra; he enables balance to be achieved through correct decisions. They are to be made on the principle of responsibility and not on the basis of advantage, convenience or profit.
The law should be understood as a means to restore balance and not to impose punishment. Righteousness, rather than punishment, should be the goal of the law. Libra governs and guides the path of decisions. It also regulates the application of purifying measures. Love forms the basis for righteousness and restitution or restoration. Venus, the ruler of Libra, stands for true love, which leads to tolerance, compassion and understanding.
