Today's topic on the 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge, hosted by April of Good Books and Good Wine, is about my book shopping habits. My book shopping is done primarily on Amazon. I don't browse because I'm so picky about the books I do buy, so I know exactly what I'm getting.
I do love browsing bookstores, but the closest one (that isn't a collegiate bookstore) is 30minutes away. When I do go though, I could spend hours wandering around. This is where my strict book buying policy goes a little wayside. It's those damn tables they have set up! They just get me and pull me in, especially the BOGO ones.
If it sounds rather interesting, but the price is not appealing, I'll check Amazon. I found a book at Barnes & Noble for $20, but Amazon Kindle for $1.99. Oh the power of technology!
It's the cover that has to grab my attention first - never let anyone tell you first impressions are a lie. I then move on to the synopsis. If my interest is peeked, I'll pull out my cell phone and check out it's Goodreads rating. If it's high enough, I'll skim the reviews of my friends and make my decision from there.
So while I am rather stringent when it comes to buying books, there are the exceptions. What is you book shopping habits?
