1000 People Speak out in London for Russia, One of 33 Cities in One Day

Posted on the 04 September 2013 by Mikebuonaiuto @videographer88

IMG_2151As part of our #Russia4Love Campaign, raising awareness of Russia’s new laws making it illegal to be publicly gay, more than 1000 people spoke out in London yesterday at No.10 Downing Street. The event was part of a global campaign, with 33 cities speaking out in just one day.

In the UK, our actions promoted the Foreign Office to commit to raising the issue at the upcoming G20 summit. Joined by celebrities and Peter Tatchell, All Out members armed themselves with downloadable designed posters and took to the streets.

Featured on top-tier print, broadcast and online media, it was such a great feeling seeing the posters used by members of the public, and the campaign coming together in the ‘real world’ with such an impact.
