1 – Willy’s Wonderland (2021)
Kevin Lewis’s Willy’s Wonderland sees a silent drifter take a job at a condemned amusement park. However, the amusement park is filled with possessed with demonic animatronic creatures. As the night unfolds a group of teenagers explore the park as the Janitor uses his combat skills to fight back against the creatures.
In a role where Nicolas Cage doesn’t say a word, this is a lot of fun. Before we get a Five Nights at Freddy movie, this could easily be the first step in getting us this wild adventure.
2 – Primal (2019)
Nick Powell’s Primal follows Frank a wildlife hunter that has caught himself a legendary white jaguar. However, when he looks to transport it back home, the ship he finds himself on is overrun by an assassin that releases the animals.

Richard Stanley’s Colour Out of Space is based on the dark fantasies’ fictions of H.P. Lovecraft. It follows a family farm struck by a strange meteorite that sees the environment change around them. As it spreads it creates apocalyptic consequences for the family and the world.
In what is one of the most outlandish movies of the year, it is just another chapter in the wacky movies Cage happily steps into. He commits to his character which is filled with the wild performance we enjoy seeing from him.
4 – Mandy (2018)
Panos Cosmatos’ Mandy follows a man going on a surreal rampage of revenge after his love is murdered. It is one of the wildest horror movies you will ever see. Mandy doesn’t hold back from the disturbing creations to the chainsaw sequence that we will never manage to forget.

Cage received rave reviews for his performance in this movie.
5 – Mom and Dad (2017)
Brian Taylor’s Mom and Dad follows a strange virus that spreads across the country that sees adults filled with rage. Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair fully commit to this role as their teenage children must figure out how to survive the sudden rage.
Many people will talk about Mandy as Cage Rage, however, Mom and Dad see him as just an eccentric performance in the movie.

Larry Charles’ Army of One follows an eccentric construction worker who believes he gets a message from God. It sees him believe he must capture Osama Bin Laden and bring him to justice.
When you think of Nicolas Cage and barmy performances, you will always have a few in mind. However, Army of One is unlike anything you have seen, as he completely commits to this bonkers character.
7 – Drive Angry (2011)
Patrick Lussier’s Drive Angry a vengeful father that escapes hell to chase down the men that killed his daughter and kidnapped his granddaughter. He is being tracked down by an Accountant who wants to send him back to hell. This becomes a cat-n-mouse chase between the two, as Milton won’t stop till he saves his daughter.

Even William Fichtner steals the show with his delivery throughout the film. This is a pure action mayhem movie that is well worth seeing Cage shine in.
8 – Matchstick Men (2003)
Ridley Scott’s Matchstick Men follows a phobic con artist that wants to pull off one final job when he learns that his teenage daughter wants to come back into his life. He must overcome his phobias to complete the job.
This one makes the list because I feel it is underseen when you like Ridley Scott’s filmography. This was fresh off the back of Gladiator, Hannibal and Black Hawk Down. Cage and Rockwell are brilliant together and the con artist side job is played out smoothly.

Michael Sarnoski’s Pig follows a truffle hunter who lives along with his beloved foraging pig. One day his pig is taken, and he comes out of his isolation to hunt for the person that took it.
Pig is the movie that grabbed the biggest cult following, it made many critics’ best of the 2021 list and you can see why. On paper, this shouldn’t be working very well, but the team including Cage makes this reach a life it never could have considered.
10 – Pay the Ghost (2015)
Uli Edel’s Pay the Ghosts follows a professor searching for his son after he is abducted during a Halloween carnival. I am a big fan of this type of movie, a ghost-like investigation movie. This brings us that using a professional wouldn’t go into that world without real evidence. There is also the desperation of finding a lost child.

It could easily get a following as it brings us a twisted story along the way.
