OnePlus first launched its OxygenOS Android skin in 2015, replacing OnePlus One's 2014 Cyanogen OS skin. It has since become one of the better Android overlays, offering a visual style that is closely related to the standard Android matches and still offers some functions.
OnePlus originally held a naming competition for the Android skin in 2015, with OxygenOS obviously winning. But what were the other names in consideration? Well, the company only tweeted 10 more names for the skin. Check them out below.
I don't know about you, but I really like the look of CosmOS and StratOS as they intelligently integrate the 'OS' part of the name. These names probably look better than they actually would sound as each letter in "OS" has to be pronounced.
That said, I think OxygenOS is a pretty good name anyway. And the company is preparing to launch OxygenOS 11 soon. It offers features such as a constantly available display, new animations and a better dark mode.
