Peridot gemstone comes from a mineral called olivine. The olive-green gemstone is the only jewel that is formed in silica deficient rocks such as volcanic basalt and pallasite meteorites. It is one of the gems which is formed in the molten rock of the upper mantle. In comparison with other gemstones that you can find in various colors, such as sapphires and tourmalines, peridot gemstone comes only in a unique green color - Olive green.
