Yellowstone Bourbon 150th Anniversary Review

By Josh Peters @TheWhiskeyJug

I have loved watching the evolution of the Yellowstone brand during its re-birth and this Yellowstone Bourbon 150th Anniversary is a not-too shabby tribute to what they’re building and recreating.

Yellowstone Bourbon 150th Anniversary Review

This release is just their typical Yellowstone Select bourbon with an updated design. So consider this an update to the review I did over 6 years ago.

Nice. Easy, simple, decent regular bourbon.

Has a bit of bisciuty note, but basically the same as the aroma and just as nice in a basic way.

BALANCE, BODY and FEEL
Decent balance, medium body and a soft warm feel.

Yellowstone Bourbon 150th Anniversary – Overall Thoughts and Score

Basic, tasty, bourbon with nothing to hate or even dislike about it. Works great in cocktails, decent to sip and looks good on the shelf making it a versatile bottle you won’t mind have laying around. On my own whiskey shelves, I have all of my Yellowstones sitting towards the front for that reason. Though that leads me to my critique on this one.

In this case, the basic offering, the bottle and design looks better than the whiskey that’s in it. Not by a ton, but enough to mention it and call the Yellowstone Bourbon 150th Anniversary (Select) what it is: a workhorse bourbon dressed in a shirt and tie.

SCORE: 3/5 (above average, worth checking out ~ B- | 80-82)
