Story: Wolfkin starts when Elaine (Manteau) finds herself having trouble with her son Martin (Dieu). He has been injuring other children, so she decides to explore more of his father’s past. This takes them to Luxembourg, where they meet Martin’s grandparents.

After a series of uncomfortable events, Elaine takes Martin back to her own home. However, Martin starts to show a darker side, one she isn’t prepared for. This ends up forcing Elaine to return to their family home to understand the change he is going through.

Verdict on Wolfkin

Wolfkin is a fantasy horror following a single mother trying to understand the change her son is going through. She looks to meet his estranged father’s family. However, nothing will prepare her for what she is going to face.

This is an interesting spin on the werewolf movie. It brings a more mysterious and personal approach that revolves around another change in someone. This does fizzle along with uncertainty which keeps us wondering where things will go next. However, despite bringing us a new style, it does feel like it goes along a lot slower than it could have.

Final ThoughtsWolfkin is a nice spin on the werewolf movies.
