Where is Jesus’ Power to cure this Ebola virus?
Ebola in the south, BokoHaram in the north
There is Ebola in Nigeria at present. There is Ebola in the south and there is the Boko Haram in the north. The trend- Ebola is the celebrity in vogue. There is paranoia in the country and everybody is afraid for his own good. For no one knows where Ebola might appear next. Ebola also has a jealous and an older celebrity brother. They both have many things in common.
No one knows where Boko Haram will strike next, the same way no Tom knows whom Ebola will catch unawares. The Government is afraid of BokoHaram, the government is also afraid of the Ebola virus. Boko Harm is a loud killer, The Ebola virus is also a loud killer. Soldiers are sent to die at the hands of crazy Boko Haram syndicates; it is also true that Doctors are sent to die at the mercy of the holy Ebola virus. We were told there was a Nigerian solution to the end of BokoHaram, we were also told of Nano Silver, a Nigerian sourced drug as a possible end to the Ebola Virus, but as always, we opted diplomatically for the American cure in both cases.
Fake Pastors and clerics
There are so many type of churches, so many type of miracle centres, and so many type of Christians in Nigeria at present. There are those who claim the power to heal all sort of diseases and solve unsolved problem- from traditionalists to Islamists, to Christians. They market that nothing is bigger than their power. In succinct speech, Christianity and religion is negatively loud in Nigeria today. From Catholic to Pentecostals, there are too many pastors and clerics, both self-styled and man ordained. From the Joshua’s, Chris’, Primates, Bishops, and Priests’ and at the other extreme end the Olukoya’s, the Kumuyi’s, and the Adeboye’s. These men they call men of God, say that there is Power, Power that can heal, one that defies the physical. True! there is Power but where is it? Is Ebola Power greater than the power of the Jesus they claim and preach? Well they know any trial and error on their path to do so will lead to a sure stamp of their sure six feet destination. Ebola has burst their bubble of fast moneymaking and exploitation of their brothers and sisters. They cannot use Jesus to make money with Ebola. Where that is Jesus, the Bible tells of now. On the other hand, there is high possibility that they have they invented their own Jesus? No wonder, the government warned them not to try the risk of going solo with Ebola.
A Rejected nation
The obvious truth is that Nigeria is a rejected nation. No truth, only corruption. Too much innocent blood spilled to the earth. Ebola is in the south, BokoHaram is in the north and government muscle, fake pastors and dishonest clerics cannot hold them. They are slippery and sly. Nigeria is in a lost space, the discontented and corrupt masses and elites – rejected.
To the proliferated church, it is one question. Is the Jesus they tout to us powerless to cure Ebola or is it them that are serving and telling us of another Jesus.
