When Bands Break Up

Posted on the 24 April 2013 by Fashionvisuals @fashion_visuals

I’m sure everybody has heard by now that boy band JLS are splitting up, if you have read the About Us page you will probably know that I am not exactly crying into a JLS cushion as I type… However for fans out there who are obsessed with the four lads who made it big from singing on X Factor, it will be a sad day. There have been a lot of groups who have split over the years due to irreconcilable differences and leading to many a solo career. Here are some bands from different genres that split up in the noughties:

JLS

The Pussycat Dolls

Back in 2003 PCD were formed as an American girl group who could both sing and dance. The group was fronted by Nicole Scherzinger and they had huge hits including ‘Don’t cha’ and ‘Stickwitu’. In 2010 one by one members started to leave the group before the whole ship was finally abandoned.

Oasis

For those preferring rock to pop you will remember the day that British band Oasis split up in 2009. The two Gallagher brothers were known for fighting with each other and in the end decided to call it a day. Hits like ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Don’t look back in anger’ however will not be forgotten.

Swedish House Mafia

Those who prefer dance music will recall the sad news that Swedish House Mafia had split up just last year in 2012. The DJ/producer trio had 4 top 10 hits in the UK and performed a number of shows last year to say goodbye.

Take That

To end with if you are not coping well with the JLS split don’t forget that Take That got back together so you just never know! The boy band turned man band are enjoying a bigger career now than they had back in the day when they formed in 1990.
