What Have You Been Watching? #5

Posted on the 06 August 2012 by Impsndcnma @impsndcnma

Every Monday we can talk about what we watched over the weekend. I’d enjoy hearing what new movies, games, or televisions shows were seen over the weekend. This is what I’ve been watching this weekend.

What Have You Been Watching?

August 6th 2012 Edition

We missed a week due to the Otakon convention. It’s a big Japanese Anime convention where people who enjoy all types of anime come together and watch shows/films and buy lots of merchandise. Shannon and I had a great time, we can’t help it we’re geeks.

This weekend was a little slower, but we were looking for a house. It started on Friday and the adventure has ended today. There’s too much specifics to get into to explain why it happened the way it did, but needless to say we’re disappointed. I did manage to watch some films over the weekend.

What Have You Been Watching? #5

Mardock Scramble: The First Compression – Yes, this is an anime movie. It’s running time is about 60 minutes. If your still reading, then maybe you might be interested in Mardock Scramble. It’s the first film in a trilogy by Japanese writer Tow Ubukata. The film follows 15-year-old Rune Balot. In order to survive she has turned to prostitution and is now in the employ of notorious gambler Shell Septinus. One night, Shell decides to abandon the young girl and, in an act of attempted murder, leaves her for dead in a burning car. She ends up surviving due to robotic enhancements and must now survive and testify against Shell. If this sounds too much like Ghost in the Shell, well maybe it is, but it’s still an enjoyable hour of entertainment. The two sequels will be coming out soon on Blu-ray and DVD.

Video Games:

Deadlight – A new XBLA title for Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade series has come out and its a woefully disappointing effort. It has a typical survival horror storyline and mixes in the bad elements from Shadow Complex and Limbo. Avoid it if you can. Full review will be written and posted at my friend twscritic in the next few days.

Now it’s your turn! What did you watch this weekend?
