Community:  kəˈmyo͞onitē

noun

1. a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. 2a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. This is a picture of my husband’s aunts and their best friend in the town of Kranidi, Greece. We had just come from church. Kranidi is a typical Greek beach town, but not the kinds tourists visit. People live here all year and very little revenue comes from tourism. Instead, most of the residents are fishermen and farmers, producing one of Greece’s finest varieties of olive oil and the best produce around. There is a pastry shop on every corner. With a population of less than 15,000, everybody knows everybody. While the women hang out in their patios, the men hang out at the local ouzeria.
