Walk on Opal Coast - Le Blanc Nez

By Pmeurice
Last week of Holidays, and I decided to try some outdoor painting with Pastels…
It was the first time for me to try this medium from life. I sorted out a little box with some pastels - I made a rough selection with hard pastels, mainly because I believe they are easier to carry and are not as fragile as the soft one… I took this opportunity to use a pastel card block bought some time ago, and went for hiking along some nice parts of North of France coastal path.
Here is a view of a famous perspective of the Opal Coast - le 'Cap Blanc Nez' - these cliffs are literally in front of Dover, and their color has something to recall some other places… This was a great hiking tour, the French Countryside is diving on the sea, and gives incredible views.

Le Blanc Nez - après Wissant

A good time spent their, on a sunny afternoon, and a long - very long - walk, taking a lot of pictures and trying to find a place which was not too windy for painting and drawing. After some time, I found a comfortable location :

People will notice Wissant - this was the nearest city - is a great place for kitesurfing… but after a long walk, I couldn't help to go for something else :

I will be back there… If not for Painting, at least for these waffles : the best I had in years!
