Volcano Choir, the Wisconsin experimental collaborative project between Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and Collections of Colonies of Bees, just announced a second record to be released on September 2, just shy of four years since their debut. Unmap has been a record that I’ve left and gone back to countless times due to its potently odd, delicious mixture of Vernon’s voice, electronics, organics, and post-rock vibes. In short, Volcano Choir makes gratuitously sensational music, and we cannot wait to get our hands on Repave.
Check out the teaser above and fall tour dates below, and for more information on Repave, including a track listing, head over to the band’s Jagjaguwar profile.
