The successor to the original Vivo X5 comes with the same 6.3mm aluminum body, but with a couple of new things on the inside that make it tick better.

Vivo Releases the X5S

The Vivo X5S boasts a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6752 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB on storage, unfortunately non-expandable. The front sports a 5” IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and there is a 13-megapixel shooter with LED flash on the phone’s back. The Vivo X5S is powered by a 2,250mAh battery, and offers 4G LTE, dual SIM card slots, and a number of sensors, including gyroscope, electronic compass, and OTG. What makes it different is its HIFI audio equipment:

The smartphone carries a CS4398 DAC, which enhances the sound quality, as well as Yamaha YSS205 professional signal processing chips and KTV VOD system.

The company will release the phone today in China, and it goes on sale tomorrow, January 13.
