This Virgin A340 catches the late afternoon light as it taxies onto 28L for the long flight to London.  In August 2002, Virgin became the first airline to operate the Airbus A340-600 and currently operates nine of these aircraft and plans to remove them from service in the near future.  Production of the type ended in 2011 after 377 were delivered and the market dried up with the transition to twin-engined aircraft for long distance routes.  Nikon D500 w/80-400mm, processed with Aperture.
