True Blood season 4 ended with Sookie (Anna Paquin) walking away from both Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård), even after Bill gave her his blessing to be with Eric. Given the experiences that Sookie and Eric shared in season 4, we have to say we thought that she just might give the Viking a chance. And seeing Eric open up to Sookie and tell her that he loved her was pretty out of character for the normally guarded vamp. Alex breaks down Eric’s emotions a bit further in the HBO clip below, and it sounds like Sookie has now pushed the sheriff to build the walls around him a little higher and thicker.
