I love sheet masking. But I can not use them every day. Even the cheapest-less than a dollar masks are still expensive for me to use everyday, when compared with the dollar exchange rates. Hence, I use sheet masks once in a week or sometimes once in 10 days. So, when I buy sheet masks I like to choose those that are ingredient based.
Today's review is on a sheet mask from Japan, that is Utena Premium Puresa Beauty Mask Ceramide.

LOOK AT THE INGREDIENTS, GUYS!!!! A sheet mask with four types of ceramides..how can I not purchase this?
According to CosDNA analysis, Squalane, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Olive Oil, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, and Tocopherol are marked as Acne triggers, and Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Carbomer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, and Tocopherol are marked as irritants.
Ceramides are lipids found in the skin, that promotes natural moisture by preventing water loss from the skin. If you want to know more about ceramides, I would recommend you to read this article by TheBeautyBrains.
Phytosphingosine is also a ceramide, derived from yeast and has great antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Although, Argan Oil is not marked as an acne trigger, I have read that many people break out with argan oil. So be cautious if you are sensitive to argan oil.
Utena Premium Puresa Beauty Mask Ceramide Review:There are 3 types of masks in premium puresa line: Ceramide, Hyaluronic Acid, and Collagen. Obviously, I bought the ceramide version. This mask comes in a pack of 4 sheet masks, all are packed individually.
The mask sheet is made of 100% cotton, and is also thick. Adheres well on to the facial contours. The consistency of the serum is very rich, almost like a gel cream. There is no scent to it, and also there was no dripping of the gel while wearing the mask. I have dry and dehydrated skin, and I am on accutane now. So my skin is craving for deep moisture these days.
The sheet is drenched in thick serum. I kept the mask on my face for good 40 minutes. The sheet at my chin, and jawline area dried first, and then the forehead area. Mask was still wet at the cheek area even after 40 minutes. Once I removed the mask, my face looked plump, and all the tiny pores on my inner cheeks seemed to be disappeared. My skin was deeply moisturized, and there was no hint of dryness, and the redness around my mouth has gone completely. My laugh lines also got smoothed out. There was plenty of serum left in the sachet that I applied till my upper chest area, to the back of neck, and to my hands. There is also so much essence left in the sheet, I squeezed all the serum from the sheet, and applied to my legs.
Because of the plant oils in the serum, you will find a thin film on the skin after using this sheet mask. When the first time I used it at the serum step, my skin was not able to absorb the other products that I applied in the next steps properly. So when I used it for the second time, I applied the mask before the cream/sleeping pack step, and it sealed all my lotions and serums. The moisture, and plumpness remained till the next day.
Overall, Utena Premium Puresa Ceramide Sheet Mask is a total bang for the buck. And I will hoard these masks again and again.If you are not sensitive to plant oils, then I would highly recommend this mask to try at least once.
