Ceramides are the natural lipids found on the surface of the skin. They hold surface skin cells together and protects skin from external environment. It retains moisture in the skin by forming a barrier. Thus ceramides work effectively, if you have dry skin, eczema, or damaged skin barrier. Ceramides tend to reduce as we age, so skin looses its elasticity. It is also one of the reasons why ceramides are seen in anti aging products.

According to article, Safety Assessment of Ceramides as Used in Cosmetics by CIR, there are 23 different ceramides that can be used in cosmetics.
There are lot of western beauty products with ceramides. But sadly, some of them like Cerave are not available in my country, and few products are expensive for me to buy like Elizabeth Arden ceramide products. So I started searching for products with ceramides in Asian market. There are lot of Asian beauty products with ceramides than I expected. I don't know how effective they would be in a cleanser, as you are going to wash your face immediately anyway. But let's see which cleansers have ceramides in them.

I used this serum for a couple of weeks. It has gel like texture, and turns watery on contact with skin, and absorbs very fast. So you have to spread over the skin immediately after applying, otherwise it will just disappear. Hydrates skin well, and does not feel greasy or sticky. Sadly, it gave me CC's. I tried it twice with a gap of 2 weeks. But my skin still reacted the same. I might give it one last chance before tossing it away.
