Migos Rumored To Have Kicked Drag Queens Out Of Katy Perry Performance
Looks like THAT awkward-as-all-hell Katy Perry/Migos SNL performance is controversial for more than the obvious reasons. But this time it’s not even Katy’s fault.
According to Love B. Scott, the Migos may be back up to their old semi-homo-skittish ways.
Now, the original story was quickly deleted from World of Wonder, but ended up getting spread on social media through Uproxx linkage. And with the anonymous statements that fuel the rumor, it’s tough to say how true the account is.
However three supposed sources dropped off statements detailing that Katy’s original Bon Appetit performance featured dancers in drag…but the Migos weren’t quite comfortable delivering their rhymes with the tucked-in ladies dancing just inches away from them:
Queen #1: “I was one of the performers on that table with them the whole time, during the rehearsal for 3 days. On the day of the filming, when I got there, I was told to leave. I wasn’t on the set at the time, but we were asking what happened. They said it was because Migos doesn’t feel comfortable with having drag queens there.”
Queen #2: “I heard it from the stylist. They changed the queens out in the Bon Appétit number, and they didn’t seem too thrilled during rehearsal either, with us there.”
SNL Staffer: “I work at SNL and the rumors are true! Migos held up rehearsal because they ‘weren’t comfortable with the drag queens’ being there. There were initially more drag queens on the set for that song, but after Migos threw a fit, Katy Perry’s team removed some of the queens from the performance. Additionally, Katy Perry didn’t invite any of the queens to the afterparty… So, none of them were allowed in.”
We’re curious as to how much control the Migos really have over Katy’s affairs…they are just guests on her stage in this case, after all. And Columbia Records insists that the entire report is “completely false and fabricated.”
Hmmm…who do YOU believe?
