Tram 18, Porto

Tram 18, Porto

I love old trams. There are three lines in Porto — Elétricos 1, 18, and 22 — and my favourite is Elétrico 1 to Foz (Passeio Alegre-Infante). (Get on at the beginning of the line near Igreja de São Francisco, as there are only 20-some seats.) The city is very compact but the trams make a big difference on hilly streets such as Rua de Restauracão (Line 18/Massarelos-Carmo), and Rua 31 de Janeiro (Line 22/Carmo-Batalha).
