River Island isn't really a store that I visit too often. I'll have a little browse online sometimes and then if there's something I like the look of I'll pop in specifically to pick it up. When I was younger, it was my "go to" place for a lot of things (jeans in particular), though as I got older they just didn't seem to have too many items that caught my eye and so I just ended up neglecting it during my shopping trips.
Recently though, I've been really loving a lot of their pieces (the Chelsea Girl range in particular seems to have caught my eye with it's super cute prints!). I even went so far this week, as to pop in whilst the sale was in full swing - something I normally avoid doing at all costs - I'm so glad I did though as I managed to pick up these two gorgeous pieces for just £7 each! The dress I'd had my eye on for a while and nearly picked it up a few weeks back, but the jumpsuit was a complete spur of the moment purchase and I love it. I am definitely going to be having a browse around there from now on, as I've decided that it's the kind of place you really need to rummage through to find those hidden gems!

I've had the nicest time this week. My best friend from school has been home and so I've shopped, picnicked and partied.  Had a bit of a high school reunion last night - all went to watch a RHCP tribute band play (who were actually amazing). I'm  suffering a little bit today though, not helped by the fact that I had to attend a 40th wedding anniversary party this afternoon which was filled with some very enthusiastic karaoke participants all under the age of eight.
On Thursday, a few of us popped down to the "Underneath the Arches" celebrations at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. I was a bit "meh" about going initially as the weather wasn't great but it turned out to be so much fun. They had some really good bands playing, a giant community barbecue, lights display and fireworks :) It was so lovely and made me realize how living in such a small community really can have it's benefits sometimes - the atmosphere there was just so positive and friendly. It was BYOB, so everyone just sat around on their picnic blankets - hot dog in one hand glass of wine in the other all night, enjoying the entertainment :)
So yes, I've had quite a busy week, not without noticeable effect though as I am literally nodding off whilst writing this! Going to grab myself a little nap as soon as I'm finished. Make sure you stay tuned and read tomorrow's post if you want to hear the "exciting" news I mentioned a couple of weeks back! TTFN :)This Week's Snippets + Sale Finds
