The Surfing Buddhas Bodyboard Tips

By Kree8or @surfing_buddha

These are my bodyboard tips, you can choose to follow them or not, just what I’ve picked up so far. They are in no particular order!

  • If the conditions look too big for you, they probably are. Better to go home disappointed than something much worse.
  • T-shirts etc DO NOT make you a better surfer. You’d be much better of spending the money on decent hardware.
  • Whilst on the subject of hardware, buy the best you can afford. Saying that, don’t just go on-line and buy whatever is in your budget, speak to your local surf shop. They know what they’re talking about and know much more than you do!
  • Learn the etiquette!
  • Learn to duck dive.
  • Read, read,read.
  • Spend time in the gym.
  • Talk to the locals, especially if it’s a new break to you.
  • When conditions are flat, and they will be sometimes, go for a swim! Either at your pool or in the sea. If you have a decent pool, you can sometimes hire a lane where you can wear your fins and practice.
