The Red-nosed Statues

Last week, right about the time of Thanksgiving, statues around Paris started to sprout red noses. Some of them are pretty high up!

Until today I had thought it was for the famous food charity of Coluche, the Restos du Coeur. But while looking it up for this post, I found out that the red noses were to promote children's rights, by an association called Clowns Without Borders (Clowns sans frontières). In a very French touch, the statues for the noses were chosen by art specialists so that none of them would be damaged.
