The Pull List: Must Read Comics of 7/10/2013

Posted on the 09 July 2013 by House Of Geekery @houseofgeekery

George R R Martin

Skin Trade #1

By: George R. R. Martin, Mike Wolfer

Publisher: Avatar Press

The Lowdown: This comic sounds like a run of the mill horror comic book: a private investigator stumbles upon a serial killer who is killing their prey in a really weird way so of course there is something more scary and more horrific actually going on. This normally wouldn’t get a mention, but it is created by the mind behind Game of Thrones.

Justice League

Justice League #22

By: Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis

Publisher: DC Comics

The Lowdown: Trinity War FINALLY begins. I’m pretty sure that DC has been hinting at this event since even before Flashpoint. It is going to pit Justice League, the JLA, and the Justice League Dark against each other with Pandora and her little box of horrors at the center of all this chaos.

Hickman

East Of West #4

By: Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta

Publisher: Image Comics

The Lowdown: This is probably my favorite new book of 2013. It i from Jonathan Hickman who is taking the Avengers into new and exciting places over at Marvel. This book takes place in a post-apocalypse world resembling the Old West. 3 of the 4 horseman were born traveling this world looking for Death who never took his slumber the last time they woke up.

Spider-Man

Superior Spider-Man #13

By: Dan Slott, Giuseppe Camuncoli

The Lowdown: Follow long. Spider-Slayer escaped his death sentence but is still stuck in the prison. His nanobot things upgraded Scorpion, Vulture, and Boomerang, all of whom were really physically harmed by Spiderman. Spiderman and J. Jonah Jameson are wandering the halls trying to put the Slayer back in his box. Now, the Lizard is out. Luckily, Dr. Connors guilt-ridden mind is the one controlling the Lizard’s body so this should make for  pretty cool team-up.
