Joss Whedon

Angel and Faith #20

By: Christos Gage, Rebekah Isaacs, Dan Jackson, Steve Morris

Publisher: Dark Horse

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: I have really been enjoying this book. Angel and Faith have been teaming up trying to resurrect Giles. And now Spike is entering the picture.

Batman

Batman Incorporated #9

By: Grant Morrison, Chris Burnham

Publisher: DC Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: After the epic 8th issue, I couldn’t not include this one.

Lindelof Lemire

Time Warp #1

By: Dan Abnett, Mark Buckingham, Eduardo Risso

Publisher: DC Comics

Price: $7.99

The Lowdown: This book is an anthology of science fiction stories having to do with robots and time travel. Ya know, the usual stuff. One such story comes from movie and tv writer Damon Lindelof and one of DC’s best writers, Jeff Lemire.

Jonathan Hickman

East Of West #1

By: Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta

Publisher: Image Comics

Price: $3.50

The Lowdown: if you don’t know the name Jonathan Hickman yet, get learning. He is basically running the Avengers world for Marvel right now. This post-apoc sci-fi western stars the Four Horsemen trying to kill the President of the United States.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy #1

By: Brian Michael Bendis, Steve McNiven

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: Yes, this is THAT Guardians of the Galaxy that Kevin Feige seems so happy to get on the big screen.  I am a little skeptical about this book though. First of all, I’m not the biggest fan of Bendis. However, I am a big fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy. especially when Abnett and Lanning were writing it. It seemed to end rather abruptly with Star-Lord and Nova pulling a Butch and Sundance, and this looks like a reboot, which doesn’t have me too excited neither. But expect a really big push considering the movie and the Marvel Now banner.

X-Men

Uncanny X-Force #3

By: Sam Humphries, Ron Garney, Kris Anka

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: Bishop is back, and he is blood-thirsty. I have no idea what he has been up to since Cable and Hope stopped traveling through time. He seems to have his arm and eye back. They didn’t look cybernetic in the last issue. This looks like the book that is going to gel Psylocke’s new team though.
