The Phexclusive ...

Long time friend and favourite, Phexis, has given us a bit of an exclusive. His new single, Taurus Rejoice, which will feature on the Taurus EP, will receive its first showcase here and, for this, we're very grateful. The EP will be made up of Taurus Wept, Taurus Reprise and, today's track, Taurus Rejoice and is set to contain three massive remixes, two of which, we can announce, have been handed to Jaquo George and David Marston. We've always suspected big things of Phexis, and with this in line, we're more sure than ever!
The Phexclusive ...Opening on the refreshing sound of sea waves and gulls, you know that, albeit a little later on in the day, this is a Summer-soul track that will soon be drenched in that classic Phexis classiness. The vocal comes in and, originally, is somewhat distorted. There's a few likenesses to take immediately when the vocals are in and you get to grips with the single.
The musicality is very comparable to Daft Punk and, specifically, their new album. It has a funk beat about it which is not necessarily what we'd expect from Phexis, though, it works brilliantly and makes quite possibly the best track we've ever been able to hear from him.
The next part you're going to notice will be that the vocal has a distinct likeness to the late, great, Michael Jackson. The softness of the tone really sits beautifully alongside the crashing waves that can subtly be heard throughout, and not to mention that sweet funky beat that soaks throughout.
Despite it not quite being as long as we'd hope, this is an absolute corker that has enough of a dance element about it to be considered in that genre, but enough of the funk melody too so that anyone in the world can really enjoy it. We'd hope that a video can come through for this with as many Summery shapes as possible ... we just don't want the sun to go just yet!!

We're sure you'll all be pleased to know that this, and the rest of the Taurus EP will actually be available for free as of when it is released on BandCamp and Phexis' forthcoming website - stay tuned, we can't wait!
Paul.
