The Mummy Tag!

By Sjay235 @naturalmommainm
After Lauren over at Mrs Hippo and Me tagged me in The Mummy Tag, it would just be rude of me not to accept! The Mummy Tag!

1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum, or a Working Mum?
Currently, I am a stay at home mom.

2. Would you have it any other way?
The choice was really taken out of my hands, after my contract ended in August last year. It would be nice to have the option to return to work, but I am actually really glad that things have happened as they have, as I now have the 'excuse' I needed to stay at home with Isabelle. There is no way I could go back to work any time soon and leave her - I would just find it too difficult. I would like to go back to work at some point in the future, as I love my job as a teacher, but I remember someone saying to me "You might regret going back to work, but you will never regret spending time with your baby" and that is so true.

3. Do you co-sleep?

Partially - Isabelle goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps in her cot until she wakes around 5am, when she comes in with us. If she is having a bad night, she might come in earlier, and if she is unwell I like her in next to me all night.

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
That is a really tough question. I suppose practically speaking, I couldn't be without a car seat as we are out in the car so much, and there is no public transport where I live. Other than than, I think a sling/carrier is a must have. It's so handy for a variety of reasons, and really helps calm Isabelle down if she is in a bad mood in the house, and is handy for me if I need to do something and she won't let me out of her sight.
5. How many kids do you plan on having?
We feel very blessed to have one, and at the minute I am more than happy with just my girl. 6. Date night? How many nights per month?
Zero. We've never been one for 'date nights'. We prefer to be at home, in our jammies, than out doing something! Honestly, I don't feel comfortable leaving Isabelle in the evenings. Once she is in bed it would be fine, but I don't like the idea of anyone else putting her to bed.

7. Your child's favorite show?
We don't allow Isabelle to watch TV yet, as we think she is too young.

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?
I bought a breast pump and bottles before she arrived and, despite a few tries, she never would take a bottle. So we have them, but they have barely been used at all. This kid is all about milk straight from the source!
9. Your child’s favorite food?
The list is LONG. Rice cakes, chilli con carne, plums, pasta, soup of any variety, I could go all day. She does get very over excited about yoghurt though.
10. How many cars does your family have?
Two, one each. We live in the middle of nowhere so a car each is essential.

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after and now?
All I will say is that last week I got on the scales holding Isabelle (now 10 months) and together we still didn't weigh as much as I did at the end of my pregnancy! Shameful, but never mind!

12. Dream holiday with your kids?
Hmmm, not really sure on this one. I suppose either just going away somewhere sunny and playing at the pool. I think, when she is older, a mini road trip in America to see some of the natural features would be great.
13. Dream holiday without your kids?
I love New York, so going back over there for a few days.

14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born?
Practically, I suppose the biggest change is that I don't go to work anymore, but I have definitely changed a lot within myself as well. I feel like I have finally found my 'role' in life, and my life is just where it should be. One of the biggest life changes was losing my old friends, but I have made so many new ones, and I have so much more in common with them, that I think it definitely changed my life for the better. Plus, every second of my day now revolves around Isabelle rather than myself!
15. Finish the sentence: ‘It makes my heart melt to see … ‘
Isabelle smile.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Clothes wise, most of Isabelle's wardrobe is from Next, but I also pick up whatever I can from Tesco. Anything practical for her comes from Mothercare or I buy it online, including all our cloth nappies. Ikea also have a big hand in our lives - her furniture all comes from there, as do her bibs.

17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
Make-up is Lily Lolo, mineral make up.
Skincare is Simple.
18. Huggies or Pampers?
Neither - we use cloth nappies and reusable wipes.

19. Have you always wanted kids?
Yes, always.

20. Best part about being a mum?
There is no one best part - having Isabelle and watching her grow into a happy, silly, cheeky and wonderful girl is amazing in every way. I never knew you could love someone as much as I love Isabelle, so I suppose that is maybe the best bit - feeling an unimaginable amount of love for someone every day.
