Story: The Flash starts when Barry Allen (Miller) learns that he can go super speed to change the past. Bruce Wayne (Affleck) gives him a warning it could cause major side effects. However, Barry believes he could change one little thing to save his mother.

After Barry adjusts the little moment, he wants to, he finds himself trapped in a different reality. Now he must team up with a young version of himself to teach him about the powers they have. Meanwhile, General Zod (Shannon) has arrived in a world with no Justice League. Barry finds himself in a race against time to save this world and return to his own.

Verdict on The Flash

The Flash is the latest movie from the DCEU following Barry Allen trying to understand his powers. He wants to head back in time to stop his mother being murdered. However, he finds himself in a different timeline and must work to protect it from an impending threat.

This movie looks to continue the modern superhero movie trend of traveling to different universes. Only this time we get to see it done in the DCU series of characters. Deep down there is a serious discussion about whether you could change the past, should you. But it has been done many times now, it has become old. Trouble star Ezra Miller lacks the charm in the leading role and the 18-year-old version of him is pure annoyance. He is acting more like a 6-year-old with the kid characters in Shazam coming off more mature.

The movie seems to lack any consequences and by the end, we don’t seem to have gotten very far. The string of cameos doesn’t help the movie and ends up putting us through the same experience as the latest Doctor Strange movie. Soon the whole universe is due to be reset anyway, so whether we continue on with this version of Barry is another question on the table.

Final Thoughts The Flash is a disappointing superhero movie with a flat story trying to hold it together.
