Lonely Planet has spoken, and now your travel itinerary for 2014 should be just about set. This week, the online guide to the globe released its 25 best places series. LP takes a look ahead to the places around the world that are expected to be a hot travel destination for one reason or another. For instance, Brazil is at the head of the Top 10 Countries on the Best in Travel 2014 list because the country is hosting soccer’s World Cup; it’s going to be a big year. They also list the Top 10 City destinations for 2014, and 14 other lists, including things such as the best honeymoon spots. So spend this weekend browsing through it and making those 2014 travel plans. Good times.
Not to be outdone, Conde Nast Traveler offers up its Readers Choice Awards for the 25 best island destinations. Number one? No surprise – Maui.
