Plot: Frigga, who tries to balance her risky job as a security manager in the Kiirunavaara mine with her family life, has to fight for her life and the lives of her loved ones when her city starts collapsing into the mine.

Story: The Abyss starts as Frigga (Novotny) leads the relocation program for the Kiirunavaara mining community. She runs security and wants to make sure the mine is run safely and her town is safe too. However, her personal life has become complicated with her new boyfriend Dabir (Razzazi) arriving in town.
When the mine suffers a new quake, Frigga and her ex-husband Tage (Franzen) investigate. Meanwhile, her daughter Mika (Maxime) searches for her missing brother. However, Frigga makes a shocking discovery that Kiirunovaara is on the break of collapsing into the mine. She must race to evacuate the town and save as many lives as possible.
Verdict on The Abyss
The Abyss is an action-adventure thriller following a dysfunctional family trying to protect a city from disaster. They race against time after the mine below the city starts to collapse and look to save their family from the chaos.
This is the latest Scandinavian disaster movie using real-world problems which could create a massive disaster. It shows what could happen if a quiet town faces disaster, a lot like ‘Dante’s Peak’. While this focuses on earthquakes from mining and the real location has suffered from real earthquakes. There are great action sequences including the destruction scene. If you love a good disaster movie, this is one of the edge-of-the-seat movies to keep you entertained.
