National award winning Director Bala’s next film with actor-director Sasi Kumar in the lead is based on ancient Tamil Folk dance, Karagattam. After a long time Sasi Kumar will be seen without beard and is playing a Nadaswaram expert in this film. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is pairing up with Sasi Kumar in the role of a Karagattam dancer. Both Sasi Kumar and Varalakshmi are being trained since last couple of months.
This film has been titled as ‘Tharai Thappattai’. Music is being composed by Maestro Illayaraja and this will be third film with Bala after Pithamagan, Naan Kadavul. Illayaraja reached a rare milestone and ‘Tharai Thappattai’ will be honoured to be Maestro’s 1000th film as a music director.
