Taking Shape*

By Nikki Sumner @gamergirl0621

I am pleased to be able to introduce to you a new plus size brand called Taking Shape who are an Australian company and have started to open stores in the UK. After answering a shout out on twitter I was invited to go and have a look round the Solihull branch.
It is fantastic to see a new retailer on the high street and also great for Solihull as recently there has been a significant decline in places to shop there if you are looking for Plus Size Fashion. The store is located on Drury Lane and is nicely laid out with lovely big changing rooms so you have plenty of room to manoeuvre!
I was greeted by the lovely Jean and Nikki who offered to give me a style make-over and the idea was for me to choose some items and they would also choose what they thought would suit me best. I must be honest and say that I ended up trying on that much stuff I can't remember who chose what!!
So here is a small selection of some of the outfits I tried on

Sorry for the picture quality but this is just a small selection of the outfits I got to have a look at and try on. A lot of the clothing has been designed with layering in mind which is something I love and best of all a lot of the dresses and tops had pockets!!!!! (I love pockets). I also found that in some of the tops and dresses I could size down as the cuts were quite generous even over my boobs.
To me the clothing is designed to be investment pieces that are timeless as opposed to being overly trend led so whilst the prices are on the higher end this is reflected in the cut and quality of the fabrics.

The amazing Nikki and Jean

What really made the brand stand out was the passion shown by the lovely Nikki and Jean, they love the clothes and are really committed to helping women feel amazing and push their own boundaries to try brighter and bolder outfits, and there is also a styling service on offer as well. (They also make a fantastic cuppa- which was much needed on a rainy day!).
I had a fantastic morning and I really hope that the store and the brand do well because as I said before it is great to see a new retailer on the scene and I have also spotted some good reductions on their website so go and have a peek.
So if you are in the Midlands there are three stores- Solihull, Worcester and Leamington Spa.
Thank you to Taking Shape for letting me come and visit and play dress up in all your lovely clothes.
