All I could say was “wow” when entering Studio 8 it’s just so well designed that as you come into this creative space you feel really uplifted, excited and curious about all the new skincare, makeup, beauty and hair designs await for you. For myself it’s an appointment with Vitoria Sheridan, I knew Victoria while she was a stylist at Glow in Hong Kong, and I had also seen Patrick Henri at Glow when he was in Hong Kong in between various global makeup events, as well as bring organic skincare and makeup products to Hong Kong.

As I am traveling for business, the drama is finding someone to cut, style and color my hair while on the road. However by the time I need to find someone the previous style has disappeared, my color has faded so I end up with a “I’ll make do with this until I get to a Hong Kong stylist,” if honest the best travel hair style I had was in Australia in 2006, and since that time I have been living in New York, Australia and back to Hong Kong, but never really got that workable style that I need for travel.

When I sat down with Victoria at Studio 8, I could not stress enough that I needed a go to cut, which would work in different climates and keep as “in style,” as possible before the next cut, color that would give a younger look. As Victoria talked about the cut, I told her ‘please can you help me get rid of my parting, as my hair grows regardless of the style, it just fall into this parting every time,” Victoria’s solution is to retrain my hair growth direction, as she moved my hair across my head and forwards, she starts to explain the cut, and how the color with lift this cut.

When you try this hair color there is no going back, this is a no ammonia free color cream enriched with carotenoids and melanin for a strong anti-oxidant action that is able to cover perfectly white hair, to lighten up to three levels to darken and to change the reflex. Victoria blends two shades one from a new color sand and the other from a new color brown, then she begins with highlights then adding the blended Davines shades at the roots, afterwards completing the head of hair in the blended shades. After 30 mins, the color is rinsed and Victoria applied a toner for just a short time and rinsed off, the toner was a natural ash just to balance out the warmth but not add a total ash look.

The cut started out at the back leading down to a soft oblong shape as opposed to a square cut off, this gives the neck a longer slimmer look from the back. I wanted a pixie styled cut, and Victoria cut the shape from the opposite side to my growth pattern, so as to cover the parting, my hair now comes forward from the left with the right volume A sleek cut with volume and layered to show the color tones that Victoria has created in her words “this is freestyle color,” in my words “beyond perfect.”
Easy to blow dry, and the smallest piece of Refined Texture Modeling Cream from Wella and I have the haircut, styled with the color that I had back in Australia, this is one happy customer.
